Product Tour

Upon logging into KillerSecurity, you are immediately presented with a summary page outlining the current activity on your site(s).

Beyond the standard statistics, we offer a variety of graphs so that you may more quickly view and compare your sites.

This is another type of graph that is available to you. It allows you to quickly compare the number of blocks, unique logins, and user accounts across your sites.

And this is yet another way of looking at your site. This graph provides an interesting way to look at the level of activity to your site.

When you click on an individual site, you are presented with a hot sheet containing a site summary, violation details, and regular user details.

The site summary contains information about both member and non-member (Guest) traffic (requires daemon 1.39 or newer). This data is important in order to refine and budget for your guest sections.

The violators are ordered by the number of bytes transferred, but you may click on the other headings (Username, Block Time) to change this sort.

This web site (www.yourwebsite1.com) has a 2GB daily transfer limit that gets reset at midnight. There are a number of blocks listed that share the same block time, that is because they are most likely all blocked due to going over their limit.

The regular user details is very much like the violator list, and also can be resorted by clicking on the headings if you don't wish to sort by bytes transferred.

From here, you may block users or view more details about the user, such as a transfer history.

This is actually a very typical pie chart for the Member and Guest data. Most sites tend to average between 9:1 and 7:1 for their Member to Guest ratio. Sites with more free content don't necessarily have a lower ratio.

Scrolling through the user list can be tedious and intimidating at times when you have a great number of users. There is a search dialogue like this always within reach though, so you can always find the exact records you need

You can also access our valuable knowledge base with this search tool.

When you view a user's details, you are presented with the list of IP addresses they've used most recently as well as their current byte counter, an option to view their bandwidth history/graph, and a button to view their block details if the user is blocked.

The bandwidth history for the user currently allows you to look at the past 7 days of history. This user, Tova, signed up 6 days ago and has been very actively downloading, although did not login yesterday.

The user's block details will explain exactly why the server blocked the user. In this case, the user Yvon was blocked for exceeding their bandwidth quota. If the user was blocked for another reason, additional information might be listed such as violating IP addresses.

For more information about bandwidth thresholds and how they are handled, please click here for KB#40

In this case, the user Glenna has been blocked for going over both the country quota and the network quota. Since this user has been blocked two times already, they have been blocked for a week this time.

If you manually block a user, you may pick the duration of the block and put down a specific reason for the block.

Your site preferences allow you to individually fine tune each site's settings. This includes unique thresholds and block rules.

In addition, you are provided a free sorry page that you can customise to your needs. The sorry page even includes an optional help request form so that blocked users may contact you for help and pick a new password.

Protecting an additional site is very easy! A short form is all you need to fill out prior to installing another instance of the logging daemon.
